Lacy Hollings

Democrat for Indiana House of Representatives, District 90

I am a sixth generation Hoosier and descendant of Simon Kenton, one of Indiana’s original pioneers.  My family still owns our family farm and I was a ten year 4-H member.  I live in Franklin township with my husband, Chris, and our daughter, Emma, who is a second grader at Acton Elementary.

I’m proud to receive the endorsement of the American Federation of Teachers; Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen; Indiana AFL-CIO; Indiana State Teachers Association; International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers; and Region 2 United Auto Workers.

About Lacy Hollings

Paid for by the Committee to Elect Lacy Hollings

After graduation as my high school class valedictorian, I attended the University of Southern California on academic and music scholarships.  I earned a B.A. in Communication and a M.A. in Communication Management with an emphasis in law and policy.  While at USC, I was a member of the marching band, concert band, brass band, and walked onto the NCAA Division I rowing team.

9/11/2001 happened while I was in college.  I felt very strongly that all Americans who could serve, should do their part.  I chose to enlist rather than serve as an officer because I had the ability to learn foreign languages and felt I should use my skills for my country.  I served four years in the U.S. Army in Military Intelligence as a Human Intelligence Collector/Interrogator and Arabic Linguist.  I met my husband interrogation school (how romantic) and we married in May 2006.  We deployed to separate areas of Afghanistan in December 2006 with Task Force Lightning and the 513th MI Brigade from Fort Gordon, Georgia.

After leaving the Army as a Sergeant, I relocated to Indianapolis.  I worked for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for six years as an investigator working on employment discrimination cases.  While working for the EEOC, I created and conducted multiple training seminars for investigators and presented training to outside groups as part of the office’s outreach program.  Currently, I own and operate Zoblings LLC, which is a registered Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business and Woman-Owned Business.  I provide human resources’ training and solutions to medium sized companies.
